The Aye to Zee Short Story Competition

Write a 26 word short story (it’s flash fiction really), with each word in the story beginning with a different letter of the alphabet. There are two categories of story:

Words in the story must run alphabetically, i.e Anabel bought cherries down every Friday . . .

I’ve only spent one lunchtime trying to do this, but I can say from the off that it’s —-ing hard. And just wait till you get to W-X-Y-Z.

All the letters of the alphabet in any order you like. Slightly easier to do this one, but still requires some thinking.

Send any complete stories to No prizes, but the best (or at least most coherent) submissions will be posted up on the site along with your name and twitter handle / blog.
