Brett Easton Ellis

Spent the flight home watching an interview with Brett Easton Ellis, one held by the Wheeler Centre during BEE’s book tour for Imperial Bedrooms. Both BEE and Chuck Palanuick were ranked highly on my list of favourite authors growing up. They still rank highly but going back to them now BEE seems to have aged better than Palanuick.

The last university essay I ever wrote compared Fight Club and American Psycho (the femininization of man through commercialization. I’ll post it up if I can find it. It must be saved somewhere).  Not the most original comparison, but more fun prepping and writing than putting together 4000 words on the similarities and differences of Wordsworth and Coleridge.

The interview is old news now but it’s the first time I’ve seen it. Irreverent, funny, still worth a listen and here’s the playlist:
