If you’re in London or can get down to Foyles Charing Cross Road, May 7th is a date to mark down and keep free.
To celebrate the launch of Vintage Classics books, 21 years ago, Foyles have pulled together a bunch of renowned authors and asked them to discuss the authors and books that have influenced their lives, all in five one hour discussions across a single day. Discussions range from the greatest literary villain to which novels to pass on to the next generation, taking in hidden gems and lost classics along the way.
And the writers they’s got involved aren’t bad at all: Sebastian Faulks, Sebastian Peake, Rose Tremain, Mark Haddon, Lionel Shriver, and Kate Mosse will all be there.
Tickets are a snip at £18.00 (or £15.00 for concessions), but order before April 1st and a ticket’s only £12. Mine’s in the post already.
