Bristol Short Story Prize

One of the more financially rewarding short story prizes, the fourth Bristol Short Story Prize is open to submissions until the end of this month (closing deadline is March 31st 2011). Stories can be submitted on any theme or subject, and in any style including graphic, verse or genre-based.

The details:

Entry fee

£7 for each story submitted

Word Count

3,000 word count maximum for a submission – but no minimum.

Prizes

Ist- £1000 plus £150 Waterstone’s gift card

2nd- £700 plus £100 Waterstone’s gift card

3rd- £400 plus £100 Waterstone’s gift card

And the other 17 writers who feature on the shortlist will be presented with a cheque for £100.

All 20 stories shortlisted will be published in Volume 4 of the Bristol Short Story Prize Anthology.

And it also sounds as though the winning story will be published in the Bristol Review of Books magazine and Venue magazine – It’s not made explicit but permission is asked for this in the rules.
